Q: WHY DO I NEED ZIEBART'S PROTECTION...AREN'T I COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURER?

A: Each auto manufacturer offers coverage. Most give excellent warranties. In a typical warranty, some items are excluded from coverage. This is quite common in the automotive industry because manufacturers cannot predict a vehicle's final destination. Ziebart’s protection reaches areas that those warranties don't cover. Our rust warranty includes unlimited mileage and coverage against road salt, sand, and (normal) road debris. The reason Ziebart can exceed these coverages is because we reapply (as needed) our protection to the vehicle every year. On top of that, our warranty is transferable on new vehicle applications.

Q: WILL ZIEBART VOID MY VEHICLE'S WARRANTY?

A: No. Our process will NOT void your manufacturer’s warranty.

Q: DOES RUST PROTECTION ADD VALUE TO MY VEHICLE?

A: Yes. The fact that your vehicle has received rust protection means that it won’t rust out and will keep its appearance. As a result, it will maintain a higher resale value than another vehicle of the same year, make, and model that has not received rust protection.

Q: WHAT IF I SEE RUST ON MY VEHICLE AFTER IT’S BEEN RUSTPROOFED?

A: Any sign of rust after your vehicle has been rustproofed should be brought to your Ziebart dealer’s attention as soon as possible. Your dealer will determine if the rust is in an area that has already been treated and can assist in correcting the problem before it gets any worse.

Q: HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF MY VEHICLE AFTER UNDERCOATING?

A: Your vehicle’s undercoating cover will “skin over” in just a few hours and will become dry to the touch after about 24 hours. You should avoid putting your vehicle in a garage – especially if your garage is attached to your home – for the first 1 to 2 nights as the solvents evaporate from the drying coating; this can create an unpleasant odor.

In addition, avoid water (puddles) and car washes for the first few days. Once the coating has fully dried, it will be maintenance-free.

For any additional questions or concerns, contact your local Ziebart to talk to an expert.

Q: WHAT HAPPENS DURING MY YEARLY MAINTENANCE VISITS?

A: When you bring your vehicle to Ziebart for a yearly maintenance visit, we start by power washing the underside of your vehicle to remove the dirt and allow for visual inspection. If areas of the undercoating are found to be abraded, new material will be applied when the surface dries.

For topside inspection, access plugs are removed and each panel is inspected. Then, the new Z-Gard® is sprayed on the interior and exterior seams of your vehicle’s doors. The seams of your vehicle’s hood as well as the truck/hatch are cleaned and inspected for evidence of corrosion.

Q: WHERE CAN I FIND INFO ABOUT MY WARRANTY?

A: Warranties are specific to the Ziebart service in terms of what is covered, length of warranty, transferability, etc. You can obtain the specific coverage details of your warranty by reviewing your original contract, by contacting your local Ziebart dealer, or by contacting Ziebart Customer Service at 248-588-4100.

WINDOW TINT

Q: HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF MY VEHICLE AFTER WINDOW TINTING?
A: After tinting, your windows should not be rolled down or cleaned for 3 days in order to allow the film to set. After that, use a clean, soft cloth and mild, non-abrasive, ammonia-free cleaner. Ammonia can dissolve the adhesive and cause the film to bubble and peel from the glass.

DIAMOND GLOSS® PAINT PROTECTION

Q: HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF MY VEHICLE AFTER DIAMOND GLOSS® PAINT PROTECTION IS APPLIED?
A: Avoid washing your vehicle for the first 24 hours. After that, avoid tunnel car washes that use brushes or “soft cloths”. Brushes will scratch the paint while the “soft cloth” retains sand and grit from each vehicle and can also product scratching.

Rinse your vehicle with a hose or pressure washer (not to exceed 1500 psi) to remove heavy dirt. Use a clean, soft cloth and a mild detergent to wash. Dry with a clean, soft towel (chamois). Never dust the dry surface as this can cause scratching.
