Journey4ACure (J4AC) is a non-profit pediatric cancer foundation committed to funding research for new medicines, increasing awareness about pediatric cancer and enhancing the lives of children battling cancer. 1 in 285 children will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 20 and pediatric cancer is the #1 disease related to childhood deaths in the United States.
“Children battling cancer not only go through the complications of the disease, but also miss out on various experiences in their young lives,” says Larisa Walega, Director of Marketing, Ziebart International Corporation. “Typically confined to hospital rooms, social and family interactions are limited. Simple things such as attending school and getting a proper education are also complex. J4AC helps children in such situations by funding initiatives such as their iPad program. iPads are terrific tools for communication between family and friends, as well as furthering their education,” says Walega.
